I had no idea I was so EASY. What a pushover.

PS Wahine, I told Chris to get a Garmin 705 just before RAMROD. They're REAL COOL.

    Hah! Of course we are.

Oh, and as I told Salsa and Teigyr this morning...I've been signed up for the Federal Way for awhile. It's been my Danskin Backup Plan.

Federal Way is a great race. The bike course has a few hills but it's not bad at all. Last year I actually passed someone on a hill and she was riding a Cervelo! I think it's my favorite bike course so far. The run is two loops and you go through the park (the start and finish) for the second loop so it's good for spectators.

You will have SO much fun. I'm going to be at the Iron Girl 10K on that day or else I'd join you either as a participant or spectator.

This is exciting And congrats, Salsa!

There's an easy sprint tri the week after Danskin too. 400M swim, flat bike course, I haven't signed up but would gleefully allow myself to be enabled.

mmmm....Garmin. Speaking of. One of these days.

Enabling here: you can do it! you know you want to.

I'm so glad others are signing up for the Federal Way race! I know I won't get lost on the bike leg because I'll be chasing salsa and dex.

    Just a bit of randomness...

Yesterday, while rummaging through my sock bag (I have a huge mesh bag where mismatched socks go to die), I managed to find my cycling socks with skulls on the bands. I thought I'd lost them last year during the post-STP shower/change rush.

This means that I'll have skulls on my face (um, goggles) during the swim and skulls on my feet during the bike and run. Yay! I <3 skulls.

(It's the silly stuff that excites me most, clearly.)

And, yes, I'm still planning on doing the Danskin. At the very least, I'll show up and start then just see what happens from there. The mushiness and instability I've been feeling in my knee for the last couple of weeks has faded by about half, so if I continue to be careful with it, I'm guessing it'll be pretty normal (or as close to "normal" as it gets for me) on Sunday. I'm sure the swim will be fine--slow, but fine. I don't anticipate huge issues with the bike, so the question mark is really around the run (walk) after getting off the bike. *shrug* I won't know until I try, so try I will.

(Ok, I suppose I should get back to work now...*sigh*)

    Nope, not doing it.

I've signed up 3 times, only done it once. (the first time) I don't think I'll sign up again. But I am interested in the Subaru one for next year.

    Yay Dex

Knot, I think you would like Subaru. Another good one is that Five Mile Lake Women's Tri that is in June. 400M swim, only 300 participants (this year, the limit is 500), and good parking made it a lot of fun. I didn't get a lot of STUFF from it but still, it had a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Jocelyn, I wish you could be there this weekend but I know you'll love Subaru. I never did sign up for Lake Sammamish but I think I will next year. I've got so many events going in and out of my head (and that I have pending) I know I am being scattered about the whole thing. Thanks for the enabling though I will definitely take you up on it another time.

Hey Dex, are you joining us on Saturday for a lovely pre-race meal?

KG, I'm sorry you are so far away. Would be impractical to drive down just for food but we will eat/drink in your honor.

Wow!! I can't believe it's finally here. I can't wait to see how you all do. I wish I could be there but I don't think I can handle another travel weekend. I've been way too busy. So I will cheer you on from afar...
