I have one and used it for long solo drives through the mountains in the winter. I've sent "OK" messages to jobob since she was on the ground and expecting to meet me. Hubby got them too but he was flying. I have no idea what their messages looked like. I expect to use it more when hubby takes off on more fishing trips and I'm left to my own devices.
I haven't used it in tracking mode, but having the ability to periodically send "OK" messages was good peace of mind for all during the winter. I wished I'd had it earlier in the winter for other solo drives in the back of beyond.

I wish I had one for my race last weekend. I was too fast
and Thom didn't get to see me and take pictures on the road. We think he was about about 5 minutes too late. Next time.
