No idea on motels, but you're welcome to stay at my house if you want. You'd have the same early-morning problem, though.

What are the ride lengths? How hilly?

I'm looking to fill in some riding events for after the triathlon season. I gotta choose between this and the Civil War Century (50 miler).
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

The registration form says the rides are 14, 20, 28, 40, and 56 miles. It was pretty hilly, probably about the same or a bit hillier than the Civil War Century. I've done both the Civil War Century and SheGotBike, and I much prefer SheGotBike. It's just a really nice, fun day.

Let me edit that a little--SheGotBike is hillier than the 50 mile ride in the Civil War Century. The century itself is mountainous!

I'm leaning towards SheGotBike, but I need to seek permission.

how is the permission seeking going?

DB, are you planning on heading out saturday early morning? If you were still willing to lend a ride, I would appreciate it.

I think it is time I showed that I can do more than float down a river.
Thanks TE! You pushed me half way over!

Well, since the ride is on Sunday I thought I'd go up Sunday morning instead of Saturday. (I mean, I like to get places early, or on time at least, but 24 hours ahead is a bit much even for me.)

I'd be happy to pick you up at the Takoma Metro.

A co-worker once told me: "To ask permission is to seek denial."

And of course the classic: "It's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission."

    But...don't ask me...I'm just a trouble maker!

You don't have to live with the consequences

I was thinking about the 40 miler, The Crank. I found the route posted online and I see that it has over 3000ft of climbing. That doesn't sound like my idea of fun. I don't think I'm up for that!

DB - thanks for the offer. Looks like my sister will be back in town after all so I will go stay there in Chevy Chase for Fri and Sat nights. Then go up Sunday early for the ride.

I will try to drive/ride around the ride area some Wed or Thurs afternoon/evening - depending on when I get sprung from my classes, to determine the hilliness factor. This may be hopeless if it's all hills though.

    Looking forward to it.
