Metro D.C. area, mostly....occasionally wandering up into Frederick County or out on the Eastern Shore.
Do check us out in the Mid-Atlantic area forum for rides and such. We do casually paced rides and moderate rides, both on road and off. We always wait at the top of hills and at major turns. And often, we end with a lunch stop somewhere fun!
Some of us will be doing the Civil War Century, which may be closer to your area.

I hate those freaking things! I called our County's "noxious weed" program and they said they've given up on the goatheads. They are worse this year than I've ever seen. Anyway, this was the first time I've changed a flat out on the road all by myself. I've fixed flats before but I've either been close enough to home to walk and then I've fixed it in the comfort of my garage, or I've had someone with me to help. One of my tire levers snapped in two, but other than that, it was a cinch!
