KatiePickle, will your dog drink from sports water bottles? Anyone else? During a heat wave Mae's dog walker wondered aloud about carrying water on walks. I showed her how to offer a drink from a water bottle. Mae's got her own not that it matters because her doggie lips don't touch the bottle. Say "let's hydrate" or "let's drink" and she sits and waits for a drink.

Vertically challenged, but expanding my horizons.
My yellow Lab will drink from a water bottle or a camelback. All I have to do is ask her if she wants water and she sits and waits for me to open the bottle or squeeze the mouthpiece. She also knows how to turn on the drinking fountain at the park. Jobob saw her do this a couple of years ago.

"Does the word LITTERBUG mean anything to you?"
Ok, who chewed the stove?
Stove? What stove?
You mean this one?
Now you know I would NEVER do that.
I don't know what you're talkin' about.

We have two dogs. Maggie (the super mutt) is a banana freak. No joke..she'll be outside playing and know when we go to peel a banana and comes tearing inside to drool profusely. I swear that if we didn't give her a piece, she'd be dangerously dehydrated in a matter of minutes! I don't know if she smells them, or sees us...or just has some weird six sense for bananas!
Charlie (the golden/basset mix) likes to throw his body on the ground against things (like the couch or the wall) and growl. We have no idea why. It appears that he's trying to get someone to play with him, but he'll do it even when no one is around!
Maggie has a lot of extra skin/fur. When the dogs are playing, Charlie often takes a big old mouthful of Maggie's fur from the back of her neck and just shakes his head back and forth like they do with a toy. It's so funny to watch because Maggie can basically just stand there and take it because there is so much skin and here Charlie is working away at it like she's some small animal in need of shaking!
Charlie also frequently contorts his body when sleeping:

My new non-farm blog: Finding Freedom
These stories and pics are great.
OK, this is tasteless and embarrassing, but here you go... Sometimes when Hudson gets really REALLY excited... (like he's been alone sleeping, and suddenly a favorite person comes over, or we go for a walk and run into one of his favorite doggie girlfriends) he will go into an absolute FIT of humping.
Now, mind you, he does not mount the other dog or latch onto anyone's leg. He just arches his back and starts humping the thin air. He does this in a very fast and violent fashion and sort of spins around in circles simultaneously. He does this until I calm him down by holding his face firmly between my hands, look into his eyes, and say CALM DOWN in no uncertain terms.
The first time this happened, I had no idea what was going on. I thought he was having convulsions and was ready to run to the vet!I wish I could catch it on video. It's really and truly hilarious to see. Poor baby just can't control himself.

I have a dog that can open a locked door.
She has answered the door for my neighbor, the mailman, the UPS driver, the FedEx driver, and the Jehovah's Witnesses. Oh yeah, and the trash man - our can was in a space he was having trouble with and he wanted to let us know.
It's not uncommon for me to get a text message from my neighbor that reads something like this:
I got home and ur front door was open and the girls in the yard. I out them back in.
Or yesterday:
I had to kiss Stuie... I got locked out of the house but she let me in here before I died from the heat...
Cat outside? It becomes a race between us and her getting to the door so she can let herself out to chase it.
We usually have her contained but sometimes we forget to make sure she's locked in the bedroom before we go (locked in this case means, the door is closed AND there is a baby gate keeping her in there for when she opens the door.)
The other dog has a love for bread. I had just baked banana bread, sliced some up for my husband and I to eat on our way somewhere. He was sitting on the couch, I set the slices on the coffeetable in front of him, walked into the bedroom for a minute or two. When I came back out, there was only one slice left (and no dog in sight). At first I was mad at him - I had cut him three slices and myself two, and here he had pigged and eaten four! I started to tell him that and he says "I didn't touch the bread." So we look at Cookie, who is hiding behind the couch wagging her tail nervously. Not the first time, nor the last, that bread has disappeared.
Bruiser will drink from sport-top bottles too. He will drink from pretty much anything, actually. He loves licking water off of different surfaces. I think the best time was when he hopped into the shower with me to get at the water on the inside of the tub. I think he also aspires to be a landscaper. There used to be a bush where he is standing. One day I came home from work and there was no bush but a very big mess. We rent, so the plants are now off limits, thus the plastic fencing.

Barnabas, my Maltese mix watches TV. He will watch anything with animals, even animated animals. He will run in from the other room when he hears a commercial he recognizes and "likes" or if I say "watch tv" he will run and put his paws up on the entertainment center to watch. Of course his favorite show right now is "The Greatest American Dog"
Yukon's a Kelpie cross but not sure... She sort of looks like a dingo
Doggie and kittens, this is my contractors kitten batting at her dog. This kitten and my mutt also got along.
