Brandi, being away from home makes you appreciate it more! Sounds like you had a bad day....

I bet the jerk with the beer ended up: 1. making a fool of himself in front of folks he wanted to impress; 2. passing out somewhere unfortunate; 3. hurling in public; 4. having a horrible hangover.

I used to travel overseas for work. Not so great places, so the homesickness was even more acute by the lack of every day amenities like safe-to-drink water. Made me appreciate all the small but wonderful things about home.

Yeah, there's no place like home. But there's also not many jobs that can be as much fun as yours, even if it does mean a lot of travel. Sending some mirror-winged butterflies that can turn your view of crowds of bubbas into crowds of clowns, viewed as from a distance. After all, you don't have to live with those bubbas. You can afford to shake your head with knowing amusement and pity their poor girlfriends/wives. Meanwhile, they're paying admission to watch you work and see your creations. Kinda cool, huh? I bet they wish they had your job rather than pumping gas day in and day out, or selling insurance, or ... whatever.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

I have a friend here at the fair named Sparkle (her clown name) and she is a really pretty clown (not scary) and she roller skates by the sculpture everyday with the most amazing bubbles that float by me. It makes me smile. Also because she is so nice. She is married to Ravioli the clown. You mentioned clowns and it made me think of them ha!

Thank you everyone for your words to help me through this. I wish i had more then 2 days home before I have to go again but I also have to remind myself this is temporary. it is so funny I had a very good friend of mine call me last night crying needing my support for the same exact thing. She is on the road with her band. Which is all guys. And her crew is all guys. She has a great tour bus but can never get far enough away for some alone time. And she was a bit drunk. I told her she would be ok and she needed to watch the drinking cause that was not helping her at all. And I told her to remember it is temporary. and just to ignore the boys. Then I told her I loved her. All that seemed to help. So I thank all of you for your words at least I am not surrounded by guys. It made me grateful to talk to my friend and realize my situation is not all that bad.
