Most days in life don't stand out, But life's about those days that will...
Oh, how cute! You girls find turtles, dogs, all kinds of lovable things while you're riding. Why don't I have the same luck?

I "found" a feral kitten the other day; but he didn't stick around long enough for me to pick him up![]()
I dunno. DH has a habit of finding cell phones on the road and once found (and stopped for) a pile of change that included an old Russian coin...I want to say it was a 3 or 5 kopek piece, but I'm not sure..... and he's pretty zippy.
RE: Your cute little turtle....I thought Painteds were threatened, but I see they're not. HEre's some info on the guys in your neck o' the woods: http://www.esf.edu/pubprog/brochure/turtle/turtles.htm

Today I found 20 cans and a big bucket... full of chlorine tablets! A few were out on the grass... the very, very dead grass. So I used those cans as gloves and put them back and now I have chlorine tablets in my garage.
Yes, snappers and painted turtles are VERY abundant in our area. A very large pond I pass on my fitness walks has a log that sticks out of the lily-padded water and in the summer the painted turtles are PILED on that log sunning, like a dozen at a time! I can only imagine how many more hundreds of painted turtles are in the water and piled on dozens of other logs around the pond shores.![]()
I was an avid student of local plants and animals when I was very young- always collecting and studying bugs, spiders, reptiles, amphibians, plants....
"Tiny" just ate a centipede.
He also did a big poop. I'm so proud of him!
