I wish I had something profound to say... but sometimes it just feels good to get it off your chest- even if it doesn't resolve anything.

Out of curiosity, how did you injure that muscle? Is it the hip flexor? Have you been to a running doc? Just wondering...

I hope you get to feeling better soon and can run like the wind.

I feel your pain my friend, vent away. Knee injury since January, changed my entire season. All I can say is hold off registering if you can and take it one week at a time.

    have you had it checked?

Is it a QL or oblique muscle strain, or is it really referred pain coming from your spine or hip joint?

Strains in the iliac crest neighborhood are pretty odd. Were you in a car accident? A bike crash? Thrown from a horse?

Pains referred there from the spine or hip aren't unusual. Have you been to your doc?

So it's the abdominals that are strained?

I had this spot that was sore and it was from pronating/kneeing-in. it was just below the iliac crest.

I've had it xrayed (it's nice to have friends in the business ) and that's normal. The pain is right at the top of the iliac crest. It's weird. I'm not sure if it's the hip flexor, one of the deep gluteus mucles or the abdominal muscle. I can bike, but I can't run. I can hike UPhill, but downhill hurts. I have no idea how I hurt it. I think I'm going to contact a PT that I know and have him take a look.

How about an AquaBike event. I know, it's not a HIM. But it's something.
