Today is the anniversary of her birth a few years ago in Korea.

I don't know how many years ago because in the 13 years I've known her she doesn't look like she's aged a day.

Maybe we'll go out for sushi later. I've been kind of craving it. But I may change my mind later.

I did get to sleep in.

Sleep=good. Coffee=good. I'm happy for the moment. I'm a day behind though. I didn't even know today was my birthday. DH gave me my birthday present yesterday. I kind of wondered why he was giving it to me so early. It's a rose of sharon (hibiscus). I mentioned a while ago that I wanted one for the new place. It's the national flower for S. Korea. I'd thought it would be a nice tribute to our -the kiddo's and mine, though DH has honorary status- heritage.

I'm 34 BTW. I think DH is trying to be chivalrous by not revealing my age himself. July is a busy birthday month for us. My dad's BD fall somewhere around the 8th. He celebrates his based on the Chinese lunar calendar, so it moves around a bit. DD's is on the 21st and DS is on the 27th.

My mother does that, too. Any more, I tell her that if she expects a phone call *on* her birthday, she has to tell me the day before. Otherwise, I'll get close but make no promises with regards to accuracy. (This makes for less arguing.)

Bruno, we're outta here on the 3rd of August. I don't know if we'll be settled in enough in the new place to come over.

I'll have to see where we are when it's closer to that date. I'd hate to miss an opportunity to see you again. Is the soon to be Mr. Bruno accompanying you? I'm curious to find out what kind of man can keep up with you.

Hahaha! My mother is pretty good about telling me to mark my calendar for my dad's and her birthdays a month or so in advance, but sometimes I still forget.

(Hey, I have trouble keeping track of my own some years.

) So one year I swear she tried to get more than one present out of me.

Her mom seems to celebrate her birthday on the lunar AND western calendars. I swear one year she had three birthdays.
