I always wished I was adopted. If you met my family you'd understand.

Hair needs a dye job. My roots are showing.

Another pair of shoes? hmmmmmmmm Nah, I'm just too cheap. Bib shorts. That's what I need. The Sugoi RS fit, but I haven't found them again anywhere... *sigh*

I cut my own hair short. It's sort of a Joan of Arc/monk bowl cut.
I love the silver that is taking over- it sparkles in the sun!

I have quite a few perennials blooming now but they are much more casual than most gardens. My favorite is the garden outside my bedroom window....in the spring it has several hundred white narcissus. In the summer and fall it is 6 or 7 foot tall grasses that rustle in the wind and we watch them from our bed with our morning coffee.

I should go for a run today but I've been on airplanes for the last 7 hours, car for 2, barely slept all week and I'm just exhausted. I may not get a chance to do any cardio for several more days but I just can't drag myself out. Maybe Pilates later at least.

    I hit 40MPH downhill today!

Holy toledo. The hill started getting STEEPER, so I hit the brakes because I started feeling really uneasy.

    Fun while it lasted though.

Nope. It is now short. And pink. (As seen here)

I was trying to grow out a mohawk, which meant cutting much of the top and back length off. I ended up with a sort of inverted bob with short sides, and the intention was to keep growing out the length of the sides until it all evened up...except now I've decided I kinda like the look of the short sides with the longer top part flipped over to one side. I also like how easy it is to put it in a swimcap, and re-"style" (i.e. run fingers through, and don't care if the short bits stick up at funny angles...it's *supposed* to look like that!) after taking my helmet off if I've been on the bike.

Someone hit and run my back fence. I think it might have happened Sunday, but the dogs only discovered it Monday. I came home and Zeke was out on Monday--thought the meter reader let him out.

The next day, LUCY was out and Zeke was in! I knew something was wrong, then. Lucy won't cross through the gate if it's left open. Walked the fence and found where someone had hit it!

So we locked them in all day on Wednesday, and came home late last night, walked them, then put them to bed. Opened the pet door so the cats could come in and out.

We were so beat we all slept in this morning--except the boy who sleeps with the dogs, let them out of his room at dawn. I woke up to a man screaming in the street "Get out of here!!" and dogs barking. Lucy the big stupid chicken was acting like she was going to eat the guy's dog. Running at him and when he yelled she'd sit down in the street until he turned away. (It is amusing in hindsight!) He walks the same time every day, and they bark through the fence at him and his dog. It was a big surprise to all of us--including the dogs, I'll bet--that there was no fence between him and our dogs!

As soon as they saw me, they came to the gate. Which can only mean they were out so long they were tired of running! I kept expecting animal control to show up, but they never did.

    Fence fixed. All is well.

I love my red Sidi's, too, but I think they are about 1/2 size too big....my foot tends to slide just a little in them. No blisters but a slight loss of power. Oh well....must save up for more....maybe with blue flowers....

Good sleuthing, Karen! And good work getting the fence fixed so quick.
Doggies didn't even get a chance to figure out what to do with their freedom and there it is gone already.

Got my hair cut really short a week ago and I am still not sure I like it. Oh well, it will grow back.
