Very scary! And good thing you drive a well-handling sports car and know how to use it! Are you going to follow up to see if the tire was defective?
I don't know that I'd call it a funny thing to have happen... but I am glad you are OK, and that everything worked out well for you. It could have been a really rotten situation.
Out here in the scorching desert it's "tread seperation season". I prolly see at least 3 cars in the same predicament as yours everytime I take the freeway these days. It's not fun when it's 115 out, and really dangerous. Lots of bad accidents from people losing control of their vehicles.
Glad you were ok. But man, I feel for you being on the 280 like that!
