Yeah, I guess I should've been more specific to show how weird it was - mine was on a 110# road tire also (Michelin Lithion). Somehow the staple managed to get in sideways. Like when we used to sew our fingertips together as children by sticking the needle and thread through the top couple of layers of skin (everybody did do that, right, it wasn't just the bizarre kids at my school ).
