I'm 5'1", with a super short inseam- 28 inches I think, and short little arms.
Yet I have a ..... get this..... size 10 foot!!!!!!!!
I think that comes from years of running marathons with so much "adipose tissue" on the ol frame... sigh..

Not always, though. It depends on the geometry - road bikes with a compact geometry tend to have lower nominal size so you buy a 44 that may be equivalent to a 49 or 50. And it is also true that it depends on the manufacturer: a 44 by one maker can have practically the same setup of a 46 by another maker... Originally Posted by mimitabby

My new Cannondale is a 40 cm. I'm 5'1-1/2, with an inseam of 27-1/2. The standover on the next size up was too high, not to mention the top tube being too long for me.
