My only beef with the Kona UTE is that it isn't compatible with Xtra cycle goodies (Surly Big Dummy is).

Betcha if the dude switched to moustache bars for his wrists, he'd be able to ride his Kona just fine.

I'm glad you do! You keep us informed! BTW... I'm looking for commuter under 300 in Seattle area. Just in case you come across something (while you're "working").

Ooh, pretty. Wish I could ride one. We are looking at either a Ute or a Big Dummy for grocery shopping with the baby (we'll add a baby seat), and although we like the Xtracycle stuff we also really like the Ute price.

If I didn't live at the top of a gargantuan hill I'd have a grocery bike just like that!

What size bike are you looking for? I ask because I've been spending a fair amount of time on Craigslist lately helping some friends look for bikes, so I'm happy to give you a heads up if I see anything appropriate. (I did see a 10-speed mixte in Woodinville the other day for $25. Almost bought it, but then reminded myself that there are three bikes in my living room and one in storage right now, so I have no more room for bicycles...unless I move, or clear enough space in my bedroom to keep one or two in there.)
