V...are you, by chance, getting conditioned to do a tri? Haven't heard of your latest endeavors so forgive me if you have to repeat yourself!

    My "run"

Two days post Triathlon. OMG I'm sore today!
Decided that sitting around again wasn't going to help. Got up and set out to do 5 miles. I ended up covering 5.5 miles, but had to walk a lot of it. The heat, and I was DRAINED! I hope this gets better soon! I have to do a 5 mile local race on the morning of the 4th. Ack! I'm going to stumble in last if I don't feel better by then!

Jes, it is HOT out. That and there's the delayed reaction of being sore and stuff.

V, 9 miles and only two walks? That is good!! Think about it, in a tri (or race) there are going to be water stops, etc. Unless you are really really really graceful, you are going to slow/walk a bit to walk or dump water over yourself.

No running since my tri on Saturday but I will tomorrow/today. (When I wake up, that is.) I'm actually kind of happy and excited over it all

What!?! You mean I'm suppose to stop to drink?! On the Tri for Fun I just took a cup and tried to drink on the move. I think I ended up wearing about 2/3 of the water.

3.5 mile hill run during my lunch break today. It felt GREAT. Finally. Since I found out the mileage I've had a mental break when it comes to doing the whole thing without stopping. See I had estimated it at 2.5 but it's really 3.5, once I found it out I always stopped and seemed to get tired on it real easy.

Today it was sunny and warm, but with a strong cool wind, and the run felt great. No stopping, even on the last Hill of Doom. I slowed the pace down, so maybe that was it, or maybe my legs are reacting to a week of rest (only 2x3mile runs last week) following a tri, but I felt STRONG.

Let's hope it continues... I just signed up for a second Oly Tri come August, and it'll be HOT and HILLY. Oy. What have I done?

Last year during my first tri (and first non-cycling event since I was about 5), I attempted to drink while running. I even thought I could artfully dump water over my head in dramatic fashion to help cool myself down. I learned that I can't drink while running and water pouring over my head moves the sweat into my eyes and it HURTS. It was just SO bad

Today I ran hills. I haven't run hills in about a month maybe? I was really looking forward to it too. It hurt. I am actually sore and I don't get sore. I think that's a good thing
