I rode to church and back home. Then I noticed that I was 12 miles short of having 750 miles for the month. So I went back out again. Now I have 751![]()

An almost perfect day for a century. Forty club members gathered in the small town of Boston, Ky early this morning. Our destination was Munfordville, Kentucky which is approximately 50 miles to the south of Boston.
The pace out of Boston was fast and as is the norm groups of various speeds and abilities quickly formed. The big climb up Edlin Hill further broke the groups up into even small numbers but again the group as a whole pushed on and with gusto! The weather gods blessed us for when we started out at 8:15 the skies were overcast and temperatures were in the low 70's. The only non-perfect weather issue was the wind. It was blowing from the south and it was strong (12-29 mph). However, the groups held together and onward we pushed for lunch was awaiting us in Mundfordsville. We quickly took over the Subway shop and enjoyed our sandwiches and the company. We turned our bikes north after lunch and headed back to Boston - lots of smiles and laughter amongst the group. The cloud cover had disappeared and the sun gently warmed us as we headed north. It would disappear again keeping us cool during the hottest part of day. The tailwind we had hoped did not materialize to its fullest potential. It was more a crosswind but hey every now and then it would give us a gentle push. In the end we logged 101.5 miles and all came in with smiles. As one member often exclaims, "life is good."
I had a great ride for I found my rhythm early and maintain it throughout the day. I rode this ride last July and average 16.37, today's average a bit higher; 16.41. It was a great day to ride!

49 miles at about 17.7 mph. Boy, it was WINDY!
I was hoping for a metric, but slowed down to help a new rider who was struggling on his 5th ride (which was 30 miles!!!)...and just lost my motivation to keep going.
