[QUOTE=sundial;332965]Since you are located near the Carmichael Studios, why not contact them and set up a session or two with a trainer? What better advice could you get than to have 1 on 1 training with them?QUOTE]

I would LOVE to go to Carmichael, and someday I will. But right now I am providing for a family of 7 by myself- in the real estate industry, no less. So money is just too tight right now. Poor hubby had to sell one of his bikes for me to buy mine... Hopefully the market will pick up sooner rather than later. Right now I need free coaching!
Thanks so much for the reply. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to be back- even if the guys will be kicking my butt for a while.

I would post a thread asking for people's favorite cycling books. I have a book called "Base Building for Cyclists" that is really good. Here's a link to it on Amazon.

I believe there is great benefit to "just tooling along sometimes". Riding a bike should be FUN!!! If you are always pushing, pushing, pushing ... you'll probably get burned out eventually. You need those "tooling along" rides just to get out and enjoy yourself or you might find yourself getting tired of riding all together. Also, the "tooling along" rides are very helpful the day or two after a hard ride when you need to recover your muscles.

    Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!!
