Probably because I do t and h with the same finger. Obviously I never learned to type correctly.
"teh" is an easy one to do when you're typing "correctly," too. Your left index finger is extended and the middle finger wants to just follow right along. (hte is very easy too - I just did it
- what's hard is trying to wedge the "h" in between those two left-handed letters.) I type "teh" all the time, and I type circa 130 wpm, textbook method.
I use Firefox's built-in spell checker (or MS Word's - I HATE that application, but the spelling/grammar checker is useful). But the things that a spell checker will catch are not usually the typos I miss, anyhow. Inverted or mis-inserted words are a big one - the remains of incomplete editing. I get those even when I'm transcribing. There's no substitute for proofreading! Fortunately on a message board it doesn't matter (see the thread about spelling and grammar witches!)
