    Bay Area Women's Biking

I've found a few online but can anyone recommend groups for women to MTN bike in the area?

I go with my husband but I think it would be nice to go with a group of women some time. Thanks.

Hey LL! I lead a Thursday night mountain bike ride for Velo Girls at Arastradero OSP in Palo Alto every week. Come out -- much fun!

Are you in SF or elsewhere in the bay area?

The Luna Chix MTB team hosts clinics throughout the year but I don't think their rides are open (unlike the road team who hosts both rides and clinics).

Wombats doesn't do much these days. Jacquie has her clinics and they have a monthly Mellow Marin ride.

Thanks. The Velo girls seem very cool. I'm in SF but I'll try to get my butt down to Palo Alto one of these Thursdays when you do the ride. It looks fun and I'd love to meet everyone.

Mtn bike collecting much dust on wall!

Hi VeloGirl, I saw the Thurs night mtn ride you guys do out in Palo Alto. I would like to try it but I'm wondering about alternative ways to get there - like bike and Cal Train or something? I've been struggling with the debate of selling my mtn bike lately as I almost never use it, but I'll take such a loss on it that it seems silly. Anyway - use it or lose it, I guess

hey xtra-vert! you could take CalTrain to one of the Palo Alto stops and ride over from there.

I'll drive down from San Mateo, so you could meet me @ CalTrain here and drive down with me. Email me if you're interested.

    Thank Lorri,

I know I will be interested in doing it one of these Thursdays soon, but for tonight it now turns out that I'm off to the east bay to hang out with a friend. Knowing that Cal train is an option though does make it sound appealing.

Bump for the East Bay. Do any of you ride with the local bike clubs? I'm trying to get up the nerve to go on some of the rides listed... but I keep chickening out.

I'd also be up for something in the East Bay. My husband is starting to kite board in the East Bay and it would work out really well if I was biking over there while he was kite boarding.
