(BTW: What's the distance? Do you think you'll need gels?)

Tomorrow I'm doing a tri for fun. It's a 400 yard swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run. I probably don't "need" to eat but I plan to anyway to see how it goes.

The whole point of tomorrow's race and a Tri for Real (Olympic distance) I'm doing in July is to work through the transitions. Doing them in my garage or out of the back of my car, isn't quite the same as doing them for real I suspect. It's all about getting me ready for a HIM Aug. 2.

For a short race, looks good.

For your HIM... put a bottle of spray sunblock in the transitions. Spray it on in T1 and T2.

    Good luck!

Here are a few links to some race day checklists. I always print one out and check things off so I don't forget anything.

I second the spray sunblock and bodyglide. And would add race belt and I believe you have a strap for your timing chip too. So bring those.

A dorky question about body glide...

I've only worn my wesuit once. I swam 1500 yards in the pool and it didn't chafe anywhere.

What else might I want bodyglide for?

And thanks for all the replies. I'm adding all the stuff I forgot to my list.

    Bodyglide

Well...I suppose you've done enough running and swimming so if you were going to have problems, you would? Anyway I use it for:

Wetsuit chafing on the back of my neck
On my ankles to slide my wetsuit on and off easier (but I've seen some use Pam)
On my feet if I'm starting to get rubbing or that blister feeling
On my workout top/bra if there's rubby spots
On my legs where they rub if I'm wearing shorts and it is getting irritated

It's good stuff. I was just out on a run and started getting a raw spot on my inner upper arm. I had no bodyglide with me so I used lip balm instead. It got me by but bodyglide would've been better
