This is why restaurants and fast-food joints are fighting tooth & nail against the proposed requirements that they list nutritional & caloric info on their menus & displays.
If consumers actually knew how many calories & how much fat was in that Big Mac & fries, some would probably head for the door!![]()
V, after you ride the East Bay 200K permanent - 125 miles with 7000 ft of climbing - I'd say you're allowed a BR shake !
Tho maybe you should stick with a 'small'![]()
That's funny you should say that. After the first 200K I got a fruit smoothie at Jamba Juice as my "proof" of finishing.
I would have done the same thing after the second one, but the line was WAY long! I had to settle for a Red Bull.
We did stop at Jack in the Box on the way home though.

I'm not so sure about that. I'm convinced that there are lots of people who don't do much reading anymore at all, and they probably think 3000 calories is just what a typical/normal meal is.....they have no concept of what a 3000 calorie for the whole day concept is.
Yeah people have gotten used to gargantuan serving sizes- they see them as normal now, thanks to the food industry.
I see little 7 year old kids in restaurants with quart sized sodas, and then their parents nagging them that they are not eating their 6 little grease-laden 'chicken' nuggets. Always followed up by huge pieces of cake or sundaes....
Half of all this so-called "food" winds up in the garbage, so much fat and breading that the body can't even force it down. GROSS.
