I have TE as my primary club, and post all my miles by default to TE. I'm also a member (actually, the slacker hostess ) of the 5000 mile challenge club, and my mileage total turns up fine on the 5000-mile club list. I never noticed this before.

Oh yeah, now I get it. My mileage total is my mileage total, and shows on the member list no matter which club they're posted to. But the "club ranking" on the front page is ranked by how many miles are posted to each club. Maybe it shows up somewhere else too, I don't use many of the BikeJ functions.

and hermitclub - post to TE and have at it! the only official TE team are the people currently viewing this

Sweet. I didn't know you could list muliple clubs. I just added my 2008 miles (all 2,149 of them, yippie!) to TE.

Can I do a year to date entry for each of my bikes? I have not kept track of my individual rides, but know the number of kilometers I've done since January pretty accurately. Since it's near 1600 km, I'd love to add it to TE, but I sure don't want to have to add individual rides!

    Any ideas?

There's an option to batch load your mileage. Under 'Add ride' click the check box for 'bulk entry'.

Please select the bulk entry checkbox if this entry contains data from more than one ride. This will help maintain the integrity of the various stat tables. Thank you for your cooperation.
I think that means you can bulk-enter your YTD miles!

And, my BikeJournal miles only show up on my primary club (which is TE). When I look at the rider chart for my other club, I'm on the list with my miles, but they don't count toward the total (and neither do another member's miles, who also has a different club as his/her primary). Maybe dues-paying BikeJournal members can log miles to more than one club? I don't know because I'm not one That's only fair, that people's miles wouldn't count double toward club totals.

I think no matter what your miles only count to one club. I've paid my dues and list Amici Veloci as my primary club and my miles do not show up on TE.

yeah, that's what I meant to say - you can only "dedicate" a ride to one club, which will boost that clubs collective mileage, but your personal total mileage is connected to you and will show up on a club member list next to your name. So you can check your "ranking" based on mileage in any club even if all your rides are dedicated elsewhere.

why does come out more confusing every time i type it

I think you can only join one club but you can change clubs. I first joined BikeJ wtih Different Spokes, a tiny club and I wanted to throw my AIDS Lifecycle miles their way. Then changed back to TE at a moment like this. Who knows, I might switch back or join Bicyclists with Biceps or ...

    ohmmm

I want to log my km's but i have a bit of a dilemma.

I set a goal for myself last year & although i was doing well, I felt I was getting obsessed . Being obsessed is fine but it took my accident to realize that I was ignoring my dear .

I really want to log my km's but i also am worried about getting obsessed again..

Maybe you could just log in your kms once a month in bulk. If you visit the site less perhaps it won't make you feel that obsessed. Balance in all areas of our lives can sometimes be hard.

LOL - looking at my mileage this year I think I could do with being a little more obsessed.

I promise to do more training CC before October.......I promise.
