    frustrated!!

Ahh I think I might be overworked(notice not overtraining) and it is so frustrating!!

I am in my last week of 11 credit hours in 6 weeks(summer session) and while doing 11 credits in 6 weeks I am also working around 26-28 hours a week, plus still trying to get at least 12 hours a week in on the bike(less then normal..). Sooo for the past 5 weeks my week has looked like this
Monday leave for school at 8-get home at 5, go to yoga and abs class- finally get home at 7:45.
Tuesday-Wake up at 5, leave at 5:30 to make group ride, get home at 8. 8:20 leave for school. Get out of school at 2:30 get home, change go to work from 4-10
Wed- Almost the same as monday except wake up early to help out on the Wed. morning no drop policy ride(it is out of the shop I work at, and I get to sit at the front to keep people at correct pace).
    Thursday-replica of Tuesday
Friday-don't have school until 1, but I try to get in 3-4 hours on bike, clean the apt, get errands done, study, and clean the bike.
Sat- try to wake up to ride early, then work 9-7
SUn-wake up early to either race or do group ride then work 11-4.

Then Sunday nights one part of my family or the other usualy expects me to make an appearance at their house for family dinner.

So anyways, I just had to vent and explain to someone how frustrated I am. My bike time is slipping- yesterday I just spun super easy on the trainer for 30 minutes and commuted a total of 4 or 5 miles.
Today, I slept through my alarm- never even heard it go off(it is the alarm on my phone, so eventually it stops) I woke up at 7:30 instead of 5! MIssed group ride then realized that dear BF took air pump to the state road race championships this weekend(I have to work so couldn't go)and that I hadn't put air in tires since friday. Decided to get on trainer. I only lasted on the trainer for 30 minutes-ughh just soooo tired feeling!!

Oh well, going to drink some coffee and watch tv and probably go to the gym before work to get some legs in- trying to get strength training in at least once a week. I will put air in tires at work and try to get in 2-3 hours after work tonight(will have from 4-8 to ride technically, since 8 is when it gets dark).

I just despise feeling like I am slacking on my training, and I feel like I am not going to be prepared for racing this summer. I have not been able to travel to the state point series races, so instead I am doing the local weekend office park crits and evening training crits- which means I race with the guys. THursday is going to be my first evening race and it is an open 1-4 race, so it is going to be the hardest I have ever done!! Going out to see how long I can hang in with the boys .

Oh well, one more week and then I am only taking 6 credit hours for the 2nd half of summer, but I will be working more... so I am not sure how much better off I will be.

    Dear E.,

life sometimes just gets in the way of cycling. So me too about frustration. Not to derail your post but I wanna sing the blues too.

This year, I'm bit more ready though that nealy 3 month bug really did put a damper on my training. None the less, I was thinking of doing a local crit. Close enough where I can ride to the event and do my warm up along the way. The course is bit technical two u-turns with several serious whoopty-do hills. My partner went ballistic on me. She's not having any part of it. End of story!!

I even said I'll just take it easy and hang on the back but no so far back that I get pulled. Still NO GO JOE!! She knows me too well. I really want it do this ride just for the fun of it. forget about the primes, forget about placing... Just ride for the fun of it. still NO WAY she says.

My partner does have a point. And I should listen to her My partner depends on me and so do my furry children. And I just can't afford any concussion(s). It's been nearly 7 years?? and I still have problems remembering people's name and few other minor inconveniences. She says I ask the same questions several times. She just didn't hear me the first time I say.

    Ohhh but I wish...
    Anyway, so it goes

LOL. I wish but I'm just too old to be out front. Best I could do is just to hang and watch the mayham in front of me. Then again, we aren't like the men's crash 4 or cat 5s.
