    Thanks, Tulip, for clarifying the drive time from D.C. to Kilmarnock. I've generally found mapquest to be pretty accurate, but most of my trips start from quiet Central VA, not D.C.......I lived in Arlington for almost 20 years and got used to automatically adding a cushion of drive-time to my ETA to take traffic into account.....During my first year of living in Charlottesville I often showed up too early for events---took a while to shake the habit of factoring in an extra 20 or 30 minutes!

    I'm still amazed at how little time it takes to get places here in Richmond. Six years in DC really skewed my time estimates. All of a sudden, I'm the early bird!

    Kilmarnock is 1.5 hours from Richmond, by the way. If you need directions, just let me know.
