Had to chime in on this one because luckily it is past me and only comes out on special occasions...
When I was a freshman in highschool my friends and I were swimming. We were yelling and playing when one of my girlfriends popped out of the water and said "What did you call her? Sportwhore?" So that was my nickname from then on. It fit very well... I played every sport under the sun. My friends were not at all athletic so they thought it was funny. And no I was not a "ho" in any way shape or form unless it involved some kind of game. Now it only comes out on reunions with my old pals. And yes I am still a "sportwhore!"

My DD is nicknamed Turtle. Her sister wanted to name her that when she was in my belly. "What do you want to name your baby sister?" She replied "Baby Turtle." So she is now turtle. She is almost 3 and she now says my nickname is Turtle. I think it will stick...Poor thing. Hee Hee!

    nickname

I've had several. In school I was "berly" there were 2 kimberly's in my grade. She got Kim I got "berly". That turned in to burlap by the bad mean boys.

My grandma and my favorite cousin called me "Kimmie".

My husband calls me whatever he wants to, usually "sexy momma".

    We nicknamed our kids.
Son was "Hot Rod" because he was running by 9 months.
Daughter is "Bug" named at day care by other toddlers trying to say Elisabeth.
Her name has very interesting nickname possibilies. You will notice there is no Z so lizard isn't an option like we called my cousin.

    Kim

My name is Jessica. Usually went by Jessie until much later in life. So, as a kid, the neighbors called me "James"... ie, jesse James. that stuck for years.

My maiden name was Boltz.... and so the "Lightning" for sports.

These days, I answer to Jes, Hon, or Doc., and an occasional Jessie-Loo-Hoo. Ok .. I'll answer to anything if you're calling me for food or martinis!

I have many nicknames by DH: Scoots, Beans, Super Jf, and lately it's been Queenie.

My friends, however, have a very different nickname for me: Va-j-j. I can thank my best pal: Kitty-pee for that.

my name is Meri Rae, so in grade school the boys called me Scary Rae. I hated it! DH calls me "sunshine" as in the the Beatle's "Good Day Sunshine." That one I like.
