    Rattlesnake
To see a rattlesnake in your dream, represents the passage of time.

There are other interpretations to "snakes"...check the site out. I'm not endorsing it...but some of the explanations (for instance on the tornado dreams which I experienced years ago) make sense.

It's 7:42 AM, I'm laying in bed next to the sleeping Silver (aka Sleeping Beauty).

    She starts laughing

    "What's up" I ask?

She had a dream that we were in the woods and a big moose was running around and layed down next to me turned its head to me, placed it's lips on my back and went blub..blub...blub...blub

    She thought it was funny

So, I put my lips on her back and went blub...blub...blub...blub

    Hmmm...

I get the repeating dream-themes, sometimes just for a few weeks, sometimes for years. I usually figure out pretty quick what they are really about, but they don't stop until the source is gone. I call them anxiety dreams but it's not always anxiety. Different things. Of course not ever anything good.

Some of them are bizarre. One that lasted for years was the pregnancy nightmares. That usually cropped up with school-stress, college and then grad school. When we were selling our house, I frequently dreamed about mowing. When I ended a friendship last summer I often dreamed about my favorite uncle who had died young & unexpectedly a few years before.

Bathroom dreams are the only one I can't tie to a specific source. It's always that I'm trying to find a bathroom or a shower, but the toilets are in a public area, or out of order, or in use. I always figured this was my version of the underwear dream and probably has to do with insecurity or something. But it seems kind of random so I don't know.

I have had some really weird ones myself--not so much recurring dreams as such, but recurring strange things that happen in them. Such as being in a situation where I am trying to run, because I really need to get out of some situation, and can only move as fast as if I were running through chest-deep water, or flying (in a weird way--sort of a breaststroke swimming motion through the air) and not being able to land when I want to, or getting ready to leave on a trip and realizing I've totally forgotten to pack! It's interesting to hear everyone else's.

That is too funny. Made me laugh. Thanks!!

I have had my share of wierd dreams. Last year I had several dreams with Steve Martin in them..I have not seen a movie with him in it for a very long time. Well anyway one dream was that he was dressed in a tux on top of a very tall building shooting an arrow that had flames on it the building next door. He was trying to hit a restaurant that he owned. Another one was that he was trying to sell me some corn which I did not want so when I tried to leave he started to chase me. Very strange..

Jolt, I also have had many dreams where I've forgotten to pack for some trip. Or where I'm running late for a bus or a plane.

And in the few dreams in which i can fly--it's always like swimming breast stroke! Never like superman or anything....it's like swimming. Too funny And I always wake up remembering that sensation and thinking it felt so real.

Do any of you ever have the dream where your teeth are knocked out and your mouth is bleeding and you can feel them rattling around loose in your mouth?

My shrink told me that the tooth-y dream theme is related to anxiety from being in a situation where you were in real or impending physical danger, and had no control over the situation.

Apparently, we are still toothy bitey snarly creatures on some level, and being powerless kicks up the theme of being toothless.

I don't have that dream any more, thank goodness!

Do you all dream in color? A lot of people do not. Most dream in black and white. My mother is a black and white dreamer. My sister, Renee, and brother, Neil, only dream in black and white.

My DH dreams are a mix he says. I only dream in color. I can't really remember the reason between color dreamers vs. black and white.

I also have the ability to change my dreams should I dislike the type of dream I am having. My brain tends to sense that I am asleep and I simply change what I don't like about it. Does anyone else do that?

I too tend to dream a lot about snakes and I have owned several snakes so I am not scared by them. I used to own a dream book and since then have misplaced it. But, I remember that there is two different meanings from a simple dream about a snake in it and then having one bite you in a dream.

I dream in color but never very vivid colors, almost like looking at an old photo that has faded. Usually only in earth tones or shades of grey.

Last night I had the tornado dream, another recurring dream for me. The tornado dream I have had since I was 8 and a F-5 tornado devasted a town 20 miles north of me. In my dream I am usually at home or a school and can see it out the window. It is always one of those skinny tornadoes and I have never been hurt by it in a dream.
