    muppet

Did you know there's a kiwi muppet? Is it the guy who throws fish?

What do you guys know about Australia & NZ? Don't tell me about kangaroos, sheep, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney or tim tams...

HOw about Canada? Ok, other than Niagara Falls, maple syrup, Wayne Gretzky (can i mention i still despise Janet Jones )

All I know about NZ is bocce ball and Lord of the Rings. For me, that's kind of like being asked if I wear shoes because I live in Arkansas. Sorry. :-/

Yeah, I know about the bocce (I mean, bocce must be Italian), but I've only seen in played on TV in NZ.

They have chiggers in Alabama, too,

CC, no offense taken. It is pronounced Arkinsaw! Unless you're in Kansas, then it's pronounced Arkansas (with the s). http://www.arkcity.org/portal/portal.asp

We have them in Texas as well, nasty little buggers!! Do they serve any meaningful purpose to any part of nature?

    LOL! Affected your stride, eh?

Chiggers have a knack for heading for waistbands, undies lines, cracks and creases. Ack!

My dad was eaten alive by chiggers last year. He had to sleep with cold packs on his arms and legs to get relief.

I'm pretty sure this is the weirdest thread I've encountered. More fun than it started out, but definitely weird.

Which is cool, since I've been driven indoors by the blackflies (if I may add to the weirdness). Anybody familiar with those? Not gnats, not no-see-ums, not houseflies, not stable flies, .... Blackflies are tiny (but not as tiny as a gnat), and like to draw blood. They like to get ears, behind the ears, necks, ankles, the scalp just inside the hairline, and anyplace they can burrow into your hair. The have some sort of anticoagulant they leave when they bite, so sometimes you don't know they got you until later when you scratch behind your ear and find a big crust of dried blood. It is really windy here today, so I thought maybe it would be safe to do some yard work. Ah, spring in the Keweenaw. Gotta love it.

Sorry to be so far off topic - oh wait a minute! No such thing in this thread! Technically, I didn't say anything political, so I figure it's okay.

Whew, for a moment there I feared you'd say Walmart and then off we'd go again, another round. Dodged the bullet on that one.

Only once did we have a really bad In-Your-Face poster (remember Miz Liz?) who might have been suffering from other things due to a bad bike accident. Regardless, she would blast people & actually caused one lady to change her sign-on name.

I generally find that restraint of tongue & keyboard rules on this board.
