I always remember that they're both hotels and that Waldorf is one of them. I had to google to get the other.

I'm thinking if we can go from politics to muppets in less than one page of posts maybe political discussions are okay here.

I am a wiz at getting topics off track at work as well.

I love The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Being an elected official, I get my share of politics in my everyday life. Cycling is the one part of my life where I am me, not "oh look there's our elected official". So you won't hear any politics from me

The Muppet Christmas Carol is my favorite version of the Dicken's classic, followed closely by the George C. Scott version. . .

I usually prefer versions that stick to Dickens' telling of the tale. The Muppets takes a few liberties. Everybody sing, "We're Marley and Marley..." But it's fun.

The Patrick Stewart version has become one of my favorites because it really follows what Dickens wrote.

Black Adder's is good too. That and Terry Pratchett's Hogfather are definite highlights of Christmas.

Actually, KG, I'm fascinated to hear what non-Americans have to say about this election. I listen to BBC somewhat regularly and find the coverage of the American presidential election an interesting change (though often a bit, umm, not quite spot-on).

And while I promise not to personally start electoral-themed threads, I may participate if others start them and frankly, if you know a thread is going to offend you, you really don't have to read it... every once in a while I come across something here that offends me (doesn't happen too often, but now and then), and sometimes I decide it's better to just pass it by.

If we're on Christmas (apropos in June), I have to say the Denholm Elliot Child's Christmas in Wales is just the best thing EVER.

Fair enough. Lord knows we sure don't seem to care about anyone else's elections.
