    NC, I have been looking at that site...and in process of ordering maps...but wondering WHY..

    why don't people travel north??? because of work seminars it is our best interest to travel north...any reason not to???

    A book I have on Cycling the Pacific Coast says of a trip South to North. One word: prevailing headwinds. Ooops, that's two.

    Also traffic. Highway 1 does not have much of a lane in either direction. But it is slightly better southbound. It also puts you on the ocean side so you can really see what presumabley made you bike the Pacific Coast in the first place.
