My grandma is Pansy Lorreen. My mother Pansy Jean. My great-grandmother Pansy Ellen. Oddly my great-grandma hated her name and went by Ellen. It was one thing she could remember in the late stages of Alzheimers, she would curse anyone in the home calling her Pansy.
The doctor that delivered me also delivered my mother and asked if I would be Pansy the fourth. My mother so eloquently replied "Hell no."
I also have aunts Buela and Bernis (Aunt Bun).
Zen's avatar makes me laugh, she doesn't look like a Pansy though.

IMDeanna- My father's mother's name is Joan Janet. She always has gone by Janet. She is 76, my mom's mother is 90. Hard to believe my grandmas are a complete generation apart but my parents are only 2 years apart in age.

Pansy Lorreen.
That's a very southern-sounding name.
I like it!

I suppose it could be worse:
My Paternal grandmother was stuck with Pina Letitca . She liked it so much, her tombstone reads "Lucille D. L."
My Maternal Grandmother got off easier in the name with Aileen
She is very southern/southwestern. Born in Arizona, proud graduate of Llano (TX) high school, second in a class of 8! She and my Pawpaw lived in a tent when they first got married. Still does the NY Times Crossword in pen without mistakes.
Feisty old lady, I hope to be just like her. She will whack my cousins (grown) with her wooden cane if they are being disrespectful. Doesn't hurt them, just teaches the boys to be nicer.![]()

K... so I chimed in near the start of this with my grandmother's sister, Hazel, both of whom played accordians...
Well my beloved Nana's name was Grace. My third name is Grace, and my daughter's third name is Grace. I'm sorry you didn't like it, Deanna, but Grace was almost my most favourite of my three "first" names.
I had a step-great-grandmother named Grace. In retrospect I really didn't like her very much though.
