    60 degrees?

Can I do it? First tri...just got an email that said the water is 60 degrees and wetsuits are highly recommended but not necessary. Any thoughts?? Will I have a splitting headache when I get out? I'm really pumped about the event, but definitely don't want to shell out money for a wetsuit.

My race on Saturday the water was 62. Wear a wetsuit for sure. Get in a few mins before they start and warm up. Swim out for a few mins and swim back. When you put your face in, it is going to feel cold, just keep swimming. When you get in the second time you should be fine.

You can also wear two caps.

Can you rent? There are several online rental companies.
