Basil Blossom Panniers

i ordered a beautiful set of these panniers.
They had 6 different attachments to the bike, two velcro, the others straps.
they fit the bike nice, but they didn't fit me.
They interfered with pedalling.
So if you're smaller, they're not going to work. Wonderful LBS took them back no questions.

Oh RATS! I've been waiting to hear how they worked for you, Mimi, and it's disappointing to read that they got in the way. I'm looking for a way to tote groceries and such as I set up my "little" bike for running errands. (it's a little blue Trek 720 that I've had for nearly 20 years now that will make an excellent commuter once I get the pedals and saddle changed, and some sort of carrying system on the back)

Hi, I'm a newbie. Sorry to hear these don't fit for you. I was looking pretty seriously at these bags but can't figure out whether they connect and disconnect easily, or fold flat at all. I'm getting pretty tired of searching for reasonably priced panniers for groceries. The pink and orange ones are cute, and the first orange accessory that would go with my orange Townie...I am drawn to them....

The Basil panniers are designed to go with old fashioned "rat-trap" racks. This kind of rack has a spring loaded arm instead of a platform. The panniers are joined with a strip of fabric that slides under the spring arm, which catches the panniers and holds them in place. They can be used with other racks, but I'm not sure how well it would work. If you have a more modern rack, a different pannier might work better.

They are very cute, but I'm not sure how sturdy they'd be over the long haul. And my Dutch gaming buddies are male, so they wouldn't be caught dead with the Blossom panniers. Nor with any of the other cute ones. And knowing them, they've both got black panniers :P.

The panniers I almost bought had velcro strips for down low on the bags, and 4 straps for the top. They folded VERY flat. Originally Posted by TJ_Relic

I have a pair of the Blossom bags - I'm taller so they work great for me. I'm not crazy about the flap style top in heavy weather, but I really love the reinforced square bottom and the fact that you can haul a serious amount of stuff in them. Plus you've got the fun 'n' flirty factor going for you.
