I like how they look (and the weird checkered tan they give the backs of your hands) plus I think those open spaces help to keep my hands cooler and more comfortable. Lycra gloves kinda make my hands feel like they're suffocating (probably just a mental thing there

Sometimes the old ways are good ways. I also find the crocheted gloves to feel cooler. They break in nicely, too.
