Oh what beautiful pictures! You are very lucky!

My older daughter and I took a five mile walk this morning, and then together we put up a new sturdy fence around my tomato patch.
Later I'll make dinner and we'll make popcorn and watch some movies.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms!
I got kicked out of the house this morning so the monkey's and husband could make a surprise.
Went out for a beautifull ride and came home to this! My 4-year old and 2 year old were crafty...a little help from Dad.

They even cleaned up the glitter! Yeah! Now they are out picking flowers. Nice to be the center of attention for a day!

SKnot came over to the apartment while I was in San Francisco and cleaned it. Wonderful mother's day present!

I woke up at 4 AM and did my first triathlon!! I actually finished (meaning I didn't stop to walk at all), so I'm super happy.

Later was coffee and free TCBY. Yum. Hubster is now making dinner, so all in all it has been a great day!

since we didn't have a women's ride today, I did my favorite ride: San Dimas Canyon. Forgot my camera, which was too bad, as there a gorgeous yucca inviting me to take its picture

My older son and his girlfriend came over at around 10:30 and we went to brunch at a local restaurant after about an hour. This place doesn't usually have brunch and it's a very casual place with great ribs, sandwiches, steaks, fish. My kids grew up going there a lot. The menu was excellent. I had blueberry pancakes and so did Josh. My husband and Ava had banana stuffed french toast, which was really good.
Josh gave me a really useful Burt's Bees "athletic" package, with road rash cream, soap, shampoo, lip balm. Ava made me a bracelet and earrings (she's an artist)
We left them here at the house and went off to ride with our friends, where we did a 21 mile hill ride (Oak Hill). It was really nice out. When we were descending a long hill, my other son called from Iraq, but Steve couldn't safely answer his phone. He had already called me Thursday night to wish me an early happy Mother's Day. I felt bad, but he left a message. When we got back to our friend's house, we started making tentative plans for a cycling trip in the late spring/summer 2009; maybe Sweden or Italy.

    Mother's Day

Hubby and daughter gave me some bike goodies (which is always great), then we loaded up and drove to KC to visit my mother in the hospital. Today is her birthday and Mother's day. Unfortunately, she had back surgery Friday. She turned 68 today so I fear her recovery will be slow but she's tough. The weather was cold and windy this morning but the afternoon was great, wish we could have ridden on the Katy trail today.
