I'm nowheres near that skinny (and note that the Fox sizing chart gives comparable dress sizes in juniors'), but I do favor that style of shorts for walking, boating, hanging around - they're just so comfy. I don't much care how they look when they feel that good and I'm wearing them for "ratty," sweaty activities anyhow. I've never worn a MTB style short with a liner though.

Those pictures are hilarious. Performance's store brand shorts run huge, in my experience -- I had a pair of size mediums that I could wear when I was five months pregnant, and immediately after I had my daughter, and now they are way too big for me. (And I am about a size 8-10.) Probably they just don't come in a small enough size for that model!

The model is too skinny AND the shorts are too baggy and ugly.

I guess I don't find them that bad... maybe I just have weird taste in fashion.

I like wearing shorts, pants, skirts with dropped waists. Sorry... no mom pants for me even though I am an old lady. They actually are more flattering on me than high waists.
But, those models did look a bit on the scrawny side. Performance clothes do run big and they don't carry the things I like in extra smalls. Perhaps they don't realize there a lot of short cyclists. I have a couple of Performance wool jerseys in smalls from a few years ago that do fit well, but it seems like since then, there has been the dreaded size creep.

It looks to me like she's wearing her big brother's or her boyfriend's shorts. I give them (or her depending on how you look at it) a "thumb's down".
