Does anybody else experience this problem? Teary eyes when riding...

I wear regular eyeglasses while biking. My eyes would tear up a LOT even with the glasses on. Also the occasional dirt or bug would still get in my eyes.
Then I got those sunglasses called fitovers that go right over your eyeglasses. They are slightly goggle-like wrap around and keep the wind from getting in.
I LOVE them and always wear them biking now, even in winter. No glare, no bugs, no wind. Here are the ones i use:

This thread reminded me how much I love these fitover sunglasses. They don't look 'odd' or huge, just cool and they feel comfy over my regular glasses.
Plus, they are polarized and don't give me headaches like drugstore sunglasses have in the past.
I just ordered another pair in tortoiseshell color.

Thanks for the link, Lisa. I ordered a pair of the Fit-ons in tortoiseshell yesterday. They are just what I was looking for! It was either prescription trifocal sunglasses for about $500, or another pair of crappy clip-ons.

I just got home from swimming and my eyes are burning. Do you swim too? Could it be a combination of swimming and biking affecting it?

I get teary eyed also in certain temperatures - mostly the cooler 50 - 60 degree days, despite wearing sun glasses.

There is a type of gopggles/glasses I used on a 1250 mile horse ride I did across mostly desert (NV, UT, WY and NE) called CLICs. Find them here: www.sportclic.com scroll down to the goggles. I ruined mine on the trip - got scratched, but I might try another pair for biking. I think you can get them on ebay for less.

Last year we had extra money in the flexible spending (I can never figure out how much to put in) and spent the entire bank on Oakleys with Rx lenses. I love them for riding... I worry like crazy every time I misplace them. They're also quite dark, and only have my distance vision corrected, so I can't see anything smallish without switching back to my bifocals.

Might want to give the over glasses ones a try too. Gotta check the balance in that flex spending acct. first though!
