Having just completed my first Tri ever...I am now officially a triathlete. Wooohooo!!!!
For a sprint-distance Tri, I think I came in around 1:43-1:45 (exact times haven't been posted yet). Much better then I expected so I'm encouraged about that and am thinking I've found a new addiction.
All in all things went really well. It was a sunny morning w/ temps in the 40's. The wind was tough at 20+ mph. Thankfully parts of the course were protected from the wind, but for the most part it was a battle against the wind more than other triathletes. Good challenge though.
Transitions went much easier then I hoped as well. Putting on the extra layers because of the cold wasn't as hard as I thought. Just had to make sure it was laid out in order of how I planned to put it on.
Anyway... being as I had to get up at 4:45 a.m. to drive to there and now being tired from all the excitement. I need a nap!
Oh! The only thing I forgot was our camera.Yeah, I know a photographer that forgets her camera. I was more concerned about tech gear at that early in the morning. My hubby did take some pictures of me in my tri-suit w/ race numbers though so I might post that later. Otherwise, no tri picks till the next one.

Yep, already signed up for another one in July and looking at entering a few in August!Tri Girl- Congrats on your first race! Sounds like it was a wonderful experience. Any more on the near horizon now that you're an addict? My 1/2 marathon is two weeks out and I'll do one or two more of those later this year as well. Busy summer!
June is out for me though, just to many weddings to shoot and I'll be spending a lot of time in the dark-room (Photoshop). Gotta fund the Cannondale though, she's too sexy to be sitting in lay-away.![]()
A+ !! Congrats!
Well, the results came in... turns out I was a little slower then what I had projected. I don't wear a watch when I race so I was guessing.
My official time was 1:53:59.Still better then I thought I would do, but the 1:45ish that the clock said at the finish would've been nice. lol.
Anywho, I uploaded a pick of me in my tri-suit sporting my race number. Here it is... (next race I'll flex for the pictures.)
Hopefully that works.
Great pic- thanks for sharing! No worries about the time. Now you have a PR to beat next time. You've gotta start somewhere to keep going up (or down as in the case of time) from.Your time was fanstastic for your first one, and with the next few that you're looking forward to, you have only yourself to race against.
Again, great job!!!
