I'm the only one at my office who is commuting by bike, so I've registered as an "individual" team.
The commute is 5-6 miles, depending on my route, and it's downhill in the morning, uphill in the afternoon (oof!).
It's a nice, doable distance for me, as I am currently going from being injured and unable to do much (from an accident 2 years ago) to being just a bit sore and stiff but nowhere near the fitness level I had before my accident. (Didn't do much cardio during PT, but was somehow very tired after each workout)
Last week I just did a one-way commute -- my Dahon rode home in the trunk of DH's car. Yesterday was my first round-trip commute. Had to walk a couple of the hills and stopped for a good rest and peeling-off-the-layers when I was just 10 blocks from home.
Planning to add a bit more each week. I think my goals for the summer are just building stamina and getting better at climbing.
