I've even considered trying to make a bag, but my machine is not heavy duty. I'd love to someday have one of those old heavy ones like our moms used to have! ramble ramble ramble.

My husband adapted a Filson "field bag" and made it into a front bike bag:

Also, he waterproofs his canvas hats with Filson's waterproofing wax- it's made for waterproofing canvas. It will darken it though, but makes canvas totally rain impervious. The suede waterprrofing spray works pretty well, I like it because it doesn't alter the appearance, though it's not as waterproof as the actual wax treatment.
