It's true. My grandmother got less and less hairy as she got older. NO hair on the legs, nothing really under her pits either.
And unlike men, at the age of 90, she had no hairs growing out of her ears or the top of her nose either

Maybe it's a wax/wane thing? (didn't originally intend the pun, but okay, wax, get it?)

b/c at my age, if I miss a week of tweezing, there's a solid bank of hair from each side of my eyebrows, all the way across the bridge of my nose and most of the way down to my eyelashes, and so much hair growing out of my nose it's hard to be grateful I don't have a mustache.

Triple blade razors really do the trick for me.

I use the Bic "Soleil." The same razor is marketed to men in a nicy manly blue-green color (can't remember the name, sorry). Not too expensive, like a pack of 4 for $3 or $4. The handle is a great shape for maneuvering over ankles and shins and such.

I have had a MUCH different experience. Because the head doesn't pivot, it is much easier to slice oneself open. I am careful as careful can be, but I was butchered in the more delicate areas--and I don't mean ankles.

I actually had a bad experience with the Soleil too, it comes in such pretty colors and I bought a pack for gym, travel etc (normally I don't use disposable razors). For some reason a just kept cutting myself with them, the usual places like knees and ankles, but I also sliced off a strip over my shin bone eeeouch. I threw them all away.

The Venus disposable is actually pretty good (not quite as good as the regular one, but pretty good) -- if I were going to buy disposables for some reason (every once in a while I do...), that's probably what I'd get.

Thanks again for the help everybody. Here's an update, I bought the braun silk epil xelle 5180 epilator. I figured I would post this in case somebody else was curious about epilators.

I wanted the model 5270 because that model comes with an electric shaver attachment and the 5180 comes with the beginner epilating head for newbies. Well, bed bath and beyond only had the 5180, and since I already have the norelco body groomer which is an electric shaver, I just bought the 5180. I am very happy I bought this model for the beginner attachment.

I have a high pain tolerance. I've had numerous peircings and after getting your nipples pierced, I figured I could deal with any pain. So I thought I could handle the full 40 tweezer action head like a pro. I was dead wrong. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got through a couple rows before I had to take a break. You guys weren't kidding when you said it hurts. So I switched over to the beginner attachment since it only has 20 tweezers. That was a lot better. I only did my thighs to see how they would turn out. I missed a good amount of hair with the smaller setting, but I need a break before I go back over it. My legs are very warm with red dots everywhere.

So, if you wanted to buy the braun epilator, get the 5180 model so you can switch to the beginner attachment if it's too painful for you. I got up close to my "bikini line" (I don't know if that's what you call it on a guy) and it didn't hurt too bad, but then again that was already shaved. For some reason, I received the most pain from behind my hamstring area.

I will see how the next couple of days are and post again if anybody else is interested.

Hello everybody. I am a male and I need help from women. I am trying to keep my legs hairless. Not really because I like biking, but because I think they look better and I don't like body hair.

How would a man who doesn't like biking end up here?

OFF TOPIC NOTE ON HAND SANITIZERSs: Read the label...says they kill 99.99% of most common germs...what is 99.99% of MOST? I know what 99.99% of ALL is...but 99.99% of MOST?

Maybe it takes a nerdy mind to sort that, but to me it's clear: it kills 999 of every 1000 members of the most common germ families. It makes no claim to kill uncommon germs at all, so it's undefined what would happen to any, e.g., plague bacilluseseses that might be trying to colonise your hand. HTH.

please do not use disinfectants routinely as they have been shown to lead to more antibiotic resistance.

Dunno what the big deal is.

I started shaving my legs before I started shaving my face. Faces have more delicate spots.

I think it's a mental thing. Most men don't shave their legs so it just seems a little scary?
