Great to hear you have a great heart

Prob no surprise that you have a tad on anxiety what with the little one being unwell for so long as well as all of life's other "normal" hurdles... At least you can take worrying about your heart off the list...

So glad to hear that Brandi! My palps are almost completely gone since I started getting out on the bike more often. Sounds like both us might just have anxiety-related palpitations. It's no wonder with what's going on with your niece. Be good to yourself and enjoy the relief!

Don't half a pill w/o asking your pharmacist if they can be cut. Some meds are time released and when you cut them in half you get way too much medication. W/O knowing what you are taking, the general rule of thumb is two weeks of sleepiness on average until your body adjusts. I'd start out taking the minimum amount possible - that's my advice coming from years of working in the mental health field. Can't give you any personal based advice.

I am glad to hear that it wasn't your heart - whew!

I will ask him. They do have a split down the middle though. I feel groggy even today. Iwonder how long that stuff stays in your system?

((((((Brandi)))))) It's been a tough year for you and your family. I'm glad that you went to your doctor and that there's nothing physically wrong with your heart. Whew. You're aware of your anxiety now and can start managing it. Besides just the anti-anxiety medication, I recommend seeking out some therapy. I good one can teach you how to manage all the additional stress you're under.

Brandi, take the full dose. It's wise to follow your doctor's instructions on this. You'll probably sleep like crazy the first month, but the side effects will subside. :-) I went through this when I was on Prozac many years ago. Your body is adjusting. Just take it easy, eat well, and drink lots of water. :-)

I called my Pharmacist and asked if i could split it in half. They said it was just fine. That it takes down to the lowest dose you can get of that med. And next time I could get the lower dose. But heck I get more this way and don't need a refill sooner. I will stick with this dose but cut the pills in half!

It was strange I kinda broke down in the Dr's office. They asked what was going on in my life. And it just kinda all poured out. The fact that when I bike or play Volleyball I don't have any problems I guess was key.
It is very strange when I poured it all out I couldn't believe all that has been going on in my life! I don't even remember if I mentioned to you gals about my Niece on my dh's side of the family who was diagnosed with Huntingtons desease last year at age 18. And was given about 5 years to live a normal life. Maybe? The Dr was shocked about booth stories of our niece's. She asked me a lot of questions about booth because they are so rare.

If it is a once-a-day pill, you can take it at night, about 30 minutes before bed time. That will help the sleepiness work to your advantage.

There's nothing wrong with talking to your doctor about the side effects. I wish more people would! And I wish more doctors would listen!

Depending on the medication, it may be perfectly okay to not take the full dosage and/or not take it every day. Other medications are best taken regularly and in the full amount, but if you can't tolerate the side effects, there may be other choices. Talk to your doctor!

I am taking half right now and it is much better. I don't feel like I just downed a 6 pack in 10 minutes! My Dr also talked about a beta blocker as well. I will see how things go with this.
