    March 26 rides

Woke to a gray, chilly, gloomy day and decided to skip the early club ride. Instead I headed into Louisville to shop at a cool art festival. Getting there was a challenge for the main roads were blocked due to the mini-marathon/marathon being held this morning. However, I finally made it to my destination and enjoyed the crafts/skills of others. It was a good shopping day for I picked up a gift for my mom for Mother's Day, my sister-in-law's birthday gift and my best friend's birthday gift. By the time I finished shopping the sun was out and the temperatures were climbing. Late this afternoon I pulled the bike out and went out for a spin. I logged 19.4 miles today and gosh my legs feel heavy. I hope they come to life tomorrow for I'll be participating in a century. It was a beautiful day to ride - temps in the upper 60's, blue, blue skies and a 10 mph wind out of the west. No complaints for it felt good to be outside!

    Ummm, April 26 perhaps?

That said, I'm taking a deliberate day off, and am feeling restless/guilty/wrong not to be riding! But I've been doing 60-125 mile weekends for 1 1/2 months, and am feeling burned. And I have a metric next weekend, and a mid-week mountain ride. So...forced rest day! Instead, I bought 3 baby chicks to soon join my lone laying chicken. So cute!! Set up in an aquarium, heat lamp, etc... in the bathroom, secured from the cats.

No messy "forgetting what day it is" to worry about

I didn't ride today.....yet. Instead I went downtown, on the way I dropped off a large box of old towels and a garden hose at the local animal shelter. Volunteers said it was much appreciated. Then I went to the farmer market, got a few plants. I have managed to kill mint. That takes talent and skill so I'm trying another kind in a new location.

Also went to the LBS and got new shoes. Not that I need them so badly but I can't find mine .... they are packed .... somewhere .... who knows where. When I find them I'll have another pair of ATB.

My bad! Heck, I don't want time to go backwards for that would mean I would have more then 23 school days to work until my vacation begins.

No ride yet today, earlier it was windy, cold and snowing. I just finished having dinner which was a homemade pizza that DH and I made then cooked on our smoker. Yummmm, I may get on my spin bike for a little exercise later tonight.
