My friend and I were so disappointed when we went to Austin for SXSW and the bats had not yet come back to the Bat Bridge.

It's funny I used to be terrified of bat's! they scared the heck out of me. But I realize they are not what i thought. I think I saw to many horror flicks growing up.
I just hope they find out what is wrong with these little guys. But sometimes mother nature does do these things on purpose. to balance things out, I undestand that. And maybe that is it. I mean last year they were freaking out over the bee population dropping and now I don't hear a single word about it?

We usually have a couple bats come out at dusk. I hope they don't disappear this year because I have a feeling we are going to have a swarm of mosquitoes of biblical proportions because of the all the flooding.

Oh, they're here. We've seen them flitting about in the evenings. Maybe I'd better try some peanut butter coated moths and some mosquito mints on their pillows.
It's not like the neighborhood's seedy or anything like that. Well, I did just plant a mess of vegetable seeds, but it's not like there's hooker bats on the corner or anything.
    Or maybe that's the problem?

This makes me so sad! I love bats! (I even have one tattooed on my left shoulder.) I read somewhere that bats can eat up to a pound of insects a night. Makes me wish I had my own house so I could have a bat house.

My condo association has just made a donation to an organization that installs free bat houses - my condos are a designated "natural habitat".

I'm looking out my window right now watching them flying around...eating mosquitos!

    I see 15 right now!

    They look happy!
