I don't know how bad this is for my computer tower but i'm drying my cycling socks & nicks on it..

Is this a bad thing? We don't have any dryers nor portable heaters so i'm improvising.

Noone will ever know as they cant' see it...

    shhhh..

Just be careful it doesn't overheat... in my brash and stupid student days (not that I'm not still brash and stupid at times, but not quite as often) I threw a blanket over the UNIX work station that was making a helluva racket in the corner of our computer room. That racket was the internal fan. Next day I had to confess that I was the one who had fried the 'puters inner workings.

Also remember that polyester is flammable. Don't leave it unattended on a hot computer!
