OK, gang, thanks! After much deliberation, I ordered a 40. Their chart may say 39, but I'm 40 in everything else, and one of my foot problems is a neuroma, so I really can't risk being scrunched up. At least one of you wears an 8 and a 40 in Specialized. It's gonna take a week to get my shoes. We'll see how they work. I couldn't even get a shop in Manhattan to get them in for me this week. Why is this so difficult???

Seriously, thanks to all who replied!

I had a size 42 shoe and went with 43 because my feet swell on long rides. I'll bet you will appreciate the larger size too.

I bought the white Specialized womens road shoes with three straps which are very comfortable however I have been using spd pedals with Sidi MBT shoes for a long time and changed to Look Keos and road bike shoes and I hope I get used to them in the near future. Watch out if you see me on the road till then. Lol

Those are the same ones I just bought! Hope you get used to the Keos... I use Speedplay Light Action pedals. They are really great for riding, but walking around is impossible. The cleats are huge!
