OUch.
DH came off today. The bolt holding his saddle on sheared. He has some quite impressive road rash, but no serious damage done.
Fortunately we were on a bike path and only 2km from home. Could have been much worse.
Please tell DH I commiserate with him. I am pretty sore today but not nearly as bad as it could have been! Glad that you were close to home - I was within a mile myself. I don't think I've ever heard of the bolt shearing on a saddle - OUCH!
OW!! OWIE! Oh, I shouldn't have seen this thread. Now I'll be crash prone.![]()
No road rash, but last week I put my hand through some dude's taillight.....
It was raining and he slammed on his brakes in front of me. Even with my brakes full on, there wasn't anything I could do to stop in time and I basically rear ended him. I do not honestly remember if he pulled the pass the cyclist and slam on the brakes routine or not, though where I was he had to have passed me at some point. He did jump out of the car and yell - there was nothing I could do..... he at least stopped and asked if I was OK, but he jumped right back in the car and took off like a jack rabbit. And I was going to be perfectly willing to pay for his smashed light - heck I was the one who hit him afterall. I came out of it all pretty good. I had on long finger gloves so I just got a few small cuts on my hand and a bruise on my bicep.

Owie! How are you doing?
.Thanks, he's healing up although the bruises are pretty impressive, and he's being a bit of a drama queen about them
Nothing wrong with that!! Milk it for all it's worth, baby

I am healing up fine. I rode 10 on Tuesday and went to spin class last night. The bruises are a lovely shade of yellow. I used New Skin which is like superglue on my hand and it has healed at an amazing speed! Thanks for asking.
Not an actual crash (thank goodness) but a near-miss on Tuesday. I was out running errands and was on the way home, on a fairly busy street. There was some sand in my path, but I sometimes ride through stuff like that and it's never caused a problem. Well, this sand was deeper than usual because it was filling a depression in the road surface, so as I went through it I basically fishtailed and almost went down. The only thing that prevented this from being a crash was that I was able to put a foot down to catch myself--good thing I was going slow!

The bolt had come loose a couple of times, so I don't know if there was a fault there. We'll go along to the shop and see what they say.
I hope your hand and shoulder are better.
