KG: This is a common problem for me -- ICE helps right after exercising, ibuprofen, and stretching after warming up. Always stretch after running and lots of fluids. I fight this a lot and it can be so frustrating... I always take a couple days off running when it gets bad. GOOD LUCK! They can hurt SO bad! The other thing I've learned is that when I feel it starting to tighten while running, I walk. Otherwise, it is really bad when I'm done, or stops me dead in my tracks when I am a ways from home!
Also, I'm sure I read something here about cramping a while back and things to do to avoid it -- ie, hydration, electrolytes, etc.

... and I got my lat workout too:

I felt like I could have kept going, but we had decided two miles would be a good start. I walked in te door and Thom said, "You weren't gone very long." It took me longer than I had hoped it would, about 25 minutes.
