Starfish-Sunshine's wonderful hey! Sunny days, chasin the clouds awayyyyy...

You're such a lovely person for taking the officer's doggie for walks. I'm sure the dog was grateful for another loving human to step in & give it some love

I had a wonderful Saturday & it's made me even more eager to push myself a bit further. I joined a small group of chickies doing an easy ride. A couple of ladies were just starting out & on hybrids but they managed to stay with us.

We made it to a long stretch of road where we were told by our fearless leader to push it. I led our little group for a bit & managed to get my speed to 25km/hr & stay there. It was hard & still rely on my left leg for power..but oh it felt so good to push myself (esp when it's not dark out)!!! (most of my rides now are in the dark) We had some great hills & they were wonderful!

As long as i don't move in my saddle or try & jump out of the saddle, my right leg is happy. Happy leg, happy bike ride=happy human

Happy day Starfish!!! It's darned near impossible to be crabby when the sun is out in the great PNW!

I had a happy day too today....went for a little ride this morning...15 miles in all...about killed me but I did it. My asthma's kicking up a notch what with all the pollen flying about, so it's difficult to breathe while I'm S L O W L Y climbing one of the many many hills around here. Anyhoo, did that, then cleaned the house (I love a clean house), then went mountain biking for a few hours with hubby and the kids. Climbed to the top of this ridge where we had the most spectacular view of Hood Canal and the snow covered Olympic Mountains. It was about 75 degrees, and so quiet you could only hear the wind in the trees and the faint faint hum of the boats on the water. It was about as perfect an afternoon as you could get.

Now, tomorrow will be 50 and rainy. Next weekend will be 44 and rainy. Back to reality!!

It has been two weeks since I last rode. Feeling really up to a nice hilly 20 miler today i was in aww. There are so many wild flowers right now. More then I have ever seen! Purple's, blue's yellow's, orange's, pink's and deep green's! This just really makes me want to go again tomorrow. I am at the very tail end of a cold that recked my nose and lungs so it was hard to ride. i am bringing my camera tomorrow morning I will post pictures of the hazey pink fields! What a treat!

Hey, guess what? Here is a little PS to my happy thread. Today, I was outside getting ready for a ride, and my neighbor was mowing his lawn. I made some comment about how I really ought to be mowing mine, too, given the one sunny day, and he said, "Hey, I'll take care of it, you just go out on your ride."

Do you love that? He mowed my lawn while I was out riding!

I rode all afternoon, and then I had to hurry and get dressed for a charity auction this evening, so I didn't get a chance to say thank you. So, coming home this evening I picked up a 6-pack of non-alcoholic beer and left it on the porch with a little "thank you" scrawled on it.
