AHh I hate this.
I had a specific work out to do today and I am way to sore!! I went for a walk instead to stretch out the legs. It is windy and the heart rate doesn't stay down in these winds, so no use going out for an hour recovery ride. I really want to ride!! but I know I am better off taking the day off. I am racing Sunday and don't want fried legs then.
When I thought I was going to have shoulder surgery, I started working at the LBS on the weekends, since I wasn't going to be race, there was no reason for me to have my weekends free(since I am a struggling college student). But now... since my shoulder is better I can race, but I can't travel. So I am stuck doing the local crits- which means I race with the 45+men and boy are they strong!! So my whole goal is to hang in as long as I can, with hopes that by end of the season I will be having pack finishes.
Sorry for the rambling, just frustrating- part of me feels I need to ride to get stronger for the crit, but then the other part knows that if I don't let the legs repair from all the workouts I have done the past 3 days that my legs will just be dead Sunday. (I was off the bike for almost a month and then once I was able to get back on, about 2 and a 1/2 weeks ago, I went straight back into workout mode).
Guess I will eat and soak in a bath instead... mmm that does sound good maybe catch up on tv

A long soak in a hot tub with the beverage of your choice.
But think of all that stored energy.
I always have an extra good workout after a few days off.
