A spoke wrench works well too, as BottO* discovered after my ride on Sunday.

    * In true Jobob fashion, the receipt for the final checkpoint at the Marina Safeway for my 200K permanent was for the purchase a 6-pack of Fat Tire Ale. Alas, we did not have an actual bottle opener in our posession, but the intrepid LeeBob made do with a spoke wrench. Hence, LeeBob is heretofor known as the Bottle Opener, or BottO for short. "BO" having a somewhat negative if not on occasion not totally inaccurate connotation .

Can Opener of course being already taken.

Yes, but he's a super Can Opener, not just any old can opener.

Just in case your can opener has changed its mind

Email today from the Crater Lake Century folks that there is still space available:

Hello everyone! I hope the start of your summer has been good. At this time we only have 100 spots remaining for the Century Ride and 50 spots for the Metric Century.

Some of you have already registered, so please let your friends know that they should register soon so that they are not left out of the "Most Beautiful Century in America" .

Go to www.CraterLakeCentury.com to register and spend some time looking at last year's ride.

    Look forward to your registrations!!

Wow I am putting that ride on my must ride list for 2009! I will be in Pittsburgh in August visiting my parents. If I wasn't going to see them I would definitely sign up! I always wanted to do that ride!

Bib #26!! Anyone else receive their packet yet?

I also noted that on the second page it says to 'bring this (race packet) to event registration on Saturday evening...' I most certainly hope that was a typo, as the ride is on Saturday!
